ENGLAND
1 - 0 England and the Paraquay keeper is going off injured
1-0 still but the Ref is a NOB yellow cards and not allowing players to get fluid FFS its 30 in the cometary box no idea what its like on the pitch running around about 35 I guess
I hope a complaint gets put in
Half time and still 1-0 for England. Not a bad half, but the heat is slowing the play a little. We still need a second I reckon.
Quote of the game so far from Mark Lawrenson, describing Paul Robinson running out to challenge a player:
"It's like a big banana running at him"
Well we won just 2nd half was bad we lost the plot
Yeah, the only positive was the 3 points. The 2nd half was very negative, the substitutions were poor, the ref was an arse.
But, we won our first game in a major tournament, which is a rarity. It's a shame that the other teams watching won't be sh1tting themselves though. It can only improve in the next game.
Was funny when Robinson hit the overhead TV screens though
Lets hope T&T beat Sweden now !
0-0 against T&T
At least you can be pretty sure to be at least 2'nd in the group, congrats england!

England officials will ask Fifa to ensure players get greater access to fluids during games after they suffered in the Frankfurt heat against Paraguay.
Players lost an average of between five and 10lbs and drank huge amounts of water during the 1-0 victory.
But there were times when England staff had difficulty getting water on.
FA spokesman Adrian Bevington said: "We will make a communication to Fifa, certainly not a complaint, because the medical staff were concerned."
He added: "We went through 70 litres of water when normally we go through something in the region of 20.
"That shows how much fluid was required and it is important the players can access it as soon as possible.
"It is also important referees take this into account when you are playing in such severe heat.
"If there is a break in play, maybe a goal kick or a throw-on, then hopefully referees can take an extra second or two to let the players take some fluids on board."
Fifa responded to inquiries about players being allowed to drink water by saying it "actively encourages" them to take on fluids during a game.
But there are strict guidelines about when it can be done - such as during stoppages in play, and Fifa revealed teams can place plastic bottles of fluids around the pitch side providing they do not get in the way of the assistant referees.
Former England centre-half Jack Charlton told Five Live Sport the issue of getting water to the players is a very important one.
Charlton was Republic of Ireland manager at the 1994 World Cup in USA when he clashed with officials trying to get water to his players on the pitch.
"You have got to take into consideration that players are running about in an enclosed stadium in temperatures when normal people would go and stand under some shade," said Charlton.
"They are sweating and it is hard work for them. When they came out for the second half it must have affected them greatly, because it is terrible.
"In 1994 Fifa sent Ireland a letter saying if the players did not have water in the temperatures they were playing in, then they were likely to go into a coma from which they were liable not to recover.
"It is a serious business. This sort of thing has got to be taken care of, because players do need to be looked after when playing in temperatures like that."
Meanwhile a leading German weather forecaster has given England some good news by saying that their game with Trinidad & Tobago on Thursday is likely to be played in much cooler temperatures.
"There will be showers and maybe thunderstorms during the day and the grass should be soft and damp," said Joerg Kachelmann. "Thursday will be the first cool day of the week."
But things could get worse as Fifa has said some World Cup stadiums may be closed to help eradicate distracting shadows being cast on the pitch.
Director of Communications Markus Siegler said television images were being spoilt by the distinctive shadows caused by stadium design, roof girders or other structures.
But Kachelmann warned: "It would be a massive greenhouse inside if they close the roofs on days like those coming up with temperatures rising well above 30 degrees.
"It would be a killer having the roof closed above, with the massive crowds inside.
"If they had air conditioning it would be a good idea. But without air conditioning, it would become very hot inside those stadiums."
