Why would you own 4 VR-4's? Sure lots of people will own a normal 8G, then upgrade to a VR-4, or have 2 VR-4's like yourself, but 4? Even if one was stolen, why would you buy 4 of them?

Something really suspect about his listing.
Possibly 4 in the family? i.e. his and three kids have one each. Just a suggestionOriginally Posted by bradc

I would say he imports them and then sells them for some profit. 4 means he has sold 4.
Though maybe not after reading his answer to the last post
Had a look at the feedback and found that they brought 2 accident damaged BMWs reasonably recently and lots of BMW parts - currently 2 BMWs for sale.Originally Posted by Kenneth

Bet they don't reply to the comment I just made then!
downgrade to an evo...it's a downgrade
LOL. Hopefully they make a new incarnation of the VR4!Originally Posted by bradc
Although, I could handle the downgrade to the EV0 9 Wagon
I guess the evo X might come with a bigger engine, I won't buy a current evo, they have too much lag for me.
I guess I would buy a 380 if:
They make a mivec twin turbo wagon with 4wd. I know there won't be much chance of that!
As much as I love everything VR-4 (inlcuding Brad)... the Evolution IX wagon is NOT a downgrade!!
Check out my band at www.battlecircus.com
It doesn't have mmcs, a v6, or twin turbo's, so it is a downgrade
The dash looks like a VR4 dash, and it does have 5 stud wheels.
But the front and rear bumpers don't look like VR4 ones... so I'm banking that it was an ST-R with VR4 running gear.
Then you have to wonder how much is actual VR4?
a VR4 engine + ST-R running gear (if they even match up) would probably blow to bits quickily.
*shrug* noone really knows aside from the chopshop that did it
I think it has quite a bit of ST-R in it as well. It certainly isn't a pure bred. So many dodgy bastards on trade me.Originally Posted by detonate

This is the chassis number, EC5W-0004199
I'll check it over with CAPS later when I get home from work, unless someone can confirm it's a VR4 before hand.
If it is, then leave it at that and let the guy sell his car.
These are questions posted on the Auction in response to comments made by Kenneth and myself. For a guy calling himself vr4_legnum, this guy doesn't know anything.
"hi dude!! very nice legnum you got!! wish i had the $$$ to buyn it!! all legnums have the same rear end!! have a look at any VR4s, ST-RS,STS or the 1.8 gdi are all the same!! cheers!! posted by: vr4_legnum (72 ) 6:42 pm, Fri 23 Jun"
"sweet as dude!! il swap you 4 my Skyline?? lol! and ken34 the vr4s from 92-95 are the one with 260ps!! cheers!! posted by: vr4_legnum (72 ) 9:27 pm, Fri 23 Jun"
I think it's kosher.
I banged that chassis number the seller gives into the Mitsubishi Japan recall tracker - and the recalls that appear are all relevant to the VR-4.
No rear cut out is not right though..... Two reasons spring to mind, one is that it is a snotter, and he's supplied a false chassis number
Two is that the car's been in a rear-ender and has been repaired using a standard bumper - hence the exhaust tip has been bent down a bit.
Exhaust tip itself looks to small anyway
I think it was probably in a rear end accident myself, and maybe they replaced the muffler, it may have been damaged in the crash.
There is a guy selling one on Trade Me at the moment saying that it is a "rare Type-S" and does 10L/100km...now those are lies. See: http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/List...950&key=279931
This one's even more suspect. Google 'tau' and it will reveal that these guys are a jap company specialising in selling written off vehicles. Never mind the claims of fuel economy, what one should really question is the condition of this vehicle when it came into the country.
Sad, isn't it?
TAU don't just deal in accident-damaged vehicles, they do get used cars in too. I know of several ex-TAU cars in the club, and some of them scrub up rather well - they've all needed remedial work before being sold though.
