"Trade In" Values

Just done a bit of market research this week. Having seen a number very nice VR4's and Leggies, on here and "trader", not selling even at silly cheap money I just wondered what the going rate might be

Our local Audi dealer had a used A3 3.2 Quattro Sport in, at what seemed a good price of £14,995 (04 plate) reduced from £16,995. so popped in and asked what he'd give me on the VR4 said he'd have to ring around. Came back after a couple of days saying he'd had 2 offers at £8K

Thought that was pretty good having watched Adam Shaw and Marcus Findlay and others struggling to sell their beauties.

Bear in mind it works both ends. Of course they will have traded the VR4 on, and may have made a loss on it in order to shift the A3 if it's been in stock a while. How does the A3 compare to other similar ones for sale, is it overpriced ?

Parkers are showing £18,910 for a Dealer sale on the Audi.

So, depending on condition, £14,995 is a cracking price to begin with, and a £8000 p/x off that seems pretty good to me.

Only 247bhp though. Would take a few horsies off that lawn of yours

Car was in excellent condition but had 50K on the clock

It was just me being in inquisitive, Audi's a "nice" car but hasn't got the appeal
of the VR4, looks etc The horsies can stay where they are for now
