can i switch from D mode to manual mode while car is moving? or should i stop the car and then switch to manual mode?

Yup, you can change from auto to tiptronic no problems.

To go to manual mode, you need to change the gearbox and get yourself a clutch. I havent heard of anyone being able to do this on the move, but I would be keen to see if you could.

Good to see that Barry didn't make the mistake of describing the emulated sequential mode as manual... Otherwise I would have had to abuse him horribly (him having a manual gearbox)

I'd never make that mistake, one is old and fuddy duddy, other young and fruitfull.
