    EVO III turbo upgrade?

Does anyone know if it is possible to put on two "EvoIII 16G Turbos" and what modifications that need to be done. Or will these turbos not be that good for performance on our engines?

Now sold: Legnum VR4 -99 trigger mauve
and a Mitsubishi Colt GTi -90 (also sold)

Firstly .... Yes it would be possible

Secondly ... Yes you would need Mods..

Thirdly ... Any Turbo's larger than ours would give you better performance..

Fourthly ... There are no bolt on upgrade for our cars as yet

TD05-16g turbos would give the car capability to hit about 700hp, however the lag would be considerable. Remember EVO's start to spool their turbos at about 3500-4000rpm, and they have 2 litres spooling up one, whereas we would only have 1.25 litres spooling up each turbo.

If you want to use a cheap second hand turbo, the best would be a TD04 from either a Lancer GSR or from an early Sub WRX, you will still be able to get 500hp out of the car, but you won't have terrible lag.

Yes, use TD04s. With twin TD05s you'll probably end up with peak power high up in the rev range which is pretty much useless.

Comparable to a Honda with VTEC. LOL.

Yep as mentioned above, 2xEvo turbos won't hit peak boost till around 5-6k, to get full use of it you'll have to do alot of internal work to rev freely up to 9k....not worth it I say.
If it ain't broken, don't fix it!...MOD IT!

I suspected there would be lag..
Do anyone have a list of cars that uses TD04 that would be suitable for our cars? Volvo uses TD04 too right? and 3000GT VR-4 has two TD04 turbos..?

Yeah the GTO has two TD04's http://www.3si.org have a look at that site for details on what sort of power they get out of their stock turbos.

    http://www.turbochargers.com/store/p...products_id=59

Those turbos (EVO316G GT) are made for Subaru WRX, so I assume they can fit our stock manifolds with same modifications that TD04L13T require.

13Ts can support* up to 500-550bhp (600bhp??? some wrx guys put out 300bhp on a single stock turbo) and will spool up to (what do we consider stock? 8 psi?) 8 psi a little later than stockers.

E16G can support* up to 700bhp(750bhp??? those turbos ran 10s and numerous low 11 times on 3KGTVR4) and will hit 8 psi at 3200 rpm on a 3L engine. Our engines should see stock boost by 3800 rpm.

I think those turbos are a good choice for really big numbers.

    * According to data from compressor maps and those turbos installed on 3KGTVR4 and different Mitsus and Subarus... Compressor can only flow some amount of air regardless of engine...
