Someone build me a road ??

There must be someone out there in the government, with a miniscule amount of intelligence, to know that Sheffield & scumchester…[ 3rd & 4th largest city’s in the UK ?? ] still have not got a main road linking the two !!
I’ve got a 5.30 am start tomorrow to make sure I get to work by 7.30am. 2 hrs to drive 52 miles !! the last 16 miles are on the M67/M60.. the rest is winding my way up hill & down dale through dozens of villages !!
I’m now working in Oldham, prior to that I was in Longsite…… just 39 miles from home, & yet It took me 2 ½ hrs one morning to get there !!
The snake pass is shut at the moment for resurfacing work, & that ..realistically.. is my only option of traversing the pennines, from where I live. My only other routes are;

Woodhead pass. . . would mean getting to the other side of Sheffield 1st, so not really an option

M62. . . 40 miles north of me !!

Castleton, tintwistle, A6 . . . have you seen the traffic ??

Cat & fiddle . . . do me a favour !!

someone.... FFS... build me a motorway !!

Surely a good fast estate car would get you there faster? Have you seen those Legnums .......... carry plenty of tools etc and very fast so should cut your time in half.

Well I've just found out that I need to be in a meeting at 4pm today in Sheffield , Bit p'eed off as it is only going to last for about 1 hr . So 5 hrs driving for 1hr meeting
