Because of the climate here, we cant use the small japanese battery for long. On both VR4's ive had, the battery died and had to be replaced with a larger one within about 2 months of having the car :INSERT INTO post VALUES (

the MAF is "flexy" so theres is some room to play with there, ill see how I get on when i do mine..

My battery isn't a Japanese battery, it's bigger. You may just have to put another bend in the pipe if u really need to have a bigger battery. Make sure u can get the ATF dipstick out too

Oh yeah make sure u don't push the MAF flexy over to much to the right, it will stop u from installing the turbo intake pipe if u wish to have something like that in the photo. Vey limited space to get the 90deg's in there.

Cheers for the quick launch trick.

I may not bother replacing the other pipe with ally, but I am going to move the air filter which is just bolted to the air sensor at the moment sucking up all the heat under the bonnet, fitted by Ralliart aswell! they didn't even retain the old feed pipe from the original filter box.

How can we get hold of ally tube similer to that here?

    1/4 Mile Time Slips

Hey GalantVR4 and Legnum VR4, please post your time slips. It would be interesting to see all that information.
I have timed my 5sp.manual VR4 once at the track but only the reaction time, mph & ET were working, so I don't know my 60 ft time.
Here is my info from my three runs : 14.189 @ 93.36 mph
    14.168 @ 93.16 mph
    14.243 @ 93.75 mph
My car just has a K&N drop in filter & TurboXS MBC set to 11psi for those runs. Temperature at the track was about 35* Celsius. INSERT INTO post VALUES (I also noted the outside temperature from the AC display ranged between 35* & 40* Celsius.) Trinidad is hot ! I have a buddy with an auto VR4 who has done some mods, HKS intake, custom exhaust, GreddyEBC at 15psi, using Toluene as an octane booster and has run 13.8 several times.
Keep us updated with your mods and experiments. BTW, I have a brother in New Plymouth, NZ who used to have a VR4 but now has an Audi S4, which he says is faster !

I have a 7G VR4 INSERT INTO post VALUES (6A12,2.0V6 TT) that I also timed previously.
    60ft 1.873 - 13.826@ 97.19. similar temperature.
The 7G VR4 now has a 6G72 dohc tt engine & gearbox and so far I have only managed a best of :
    60ft 1.980 - 13.427 @ 100.90
    60ft 2.111 - 13.535 @ 100.45

    Hey Edmund VR4,

Mine is a 97 VR4 and only had a exhaust, from the middle not the extractors.

60 ft: 2.067 INSERT INTO post VALUES (I did a a 1.996 but missed 4th near the end)
    mph: 100.22mph
    et: 13.830

I feel I could have got 13.7 but only had 4 goes and twice missed 4th. But wasnt too bad for my first time on the track.

My next mods are going to be K&N, extractors, adjustable boost controller INSERT INTO post VALUES (to 13psi); then that will prob be it for a while.

Oh yeah temp was pretty cold, Im guess 15 degreese.
