Exhaust Combustion!

Why is there so much combustion coming out of my exhaust? all that black soot onto the rear of the car!

never used to be like this, only in the past few months. dont wanna chuck in the silencer to reduce the amount coming out of it.

what can i do? ill try take a picture of it. once the missus gets here with it.
