The shroud next to the stereo by the drivers leg is (i think) the best access to get to the wiring underneath.
BUT I cant figure out how to get it away. Has anyone done this??? I've found a guide on removing the front bits, but not the sides?

If I remember correctly there are two screws toward the back of the panel , undo these and then it will slide out .
This is the one to access the ecu as well , sure BDA did a write up on it

Shows how to remove the side bit
Open the glove box. There is a screw right at the top which is hidden by the lid when it is closed. You may also have to slacken the screws on the centre console and tilt it back slightly. Found under the gearlever trim one each side and a 3rd slightly further back. Care not to stress it as it will still be located by a screw either side at the back accessible only if the seat is move forward / removed. You obviously found the two screws on the side of the panel near the front. Hope this helps
/just noticed it's driver side youe after - same locations, but you may need to drop trim under dash rather than glove box lid, and I can't remember, but I think the footrest may be in the way. (2x10mm bolts)
