    Alarm settings for Dynatron

Does anyone know how to change the options on Dynatron alarms? I think it involves turning the key in a certain sequence and then pressing a button or something.

I have the D3800 and it chirps 8 times everytime I set the alarm. I have ignored it for so long but decided I am sick of it now. The reason is because the interior lights are on a timer and don't turn off immediately. Does anyone know how to get around this? (I've tried asking Dynatron but they wont tell me and I'm too lazy to go get it done )

    Any help mucho aprecciato!

try dynatron again, it is usually as you say a sequence of key turns followed by a hidden valet switch but it is usually VERY complecated, I would take it back where it was done and tell them they have obviously not set it up correctly. As it obviously isn't. Does the alarm register that there has been an attempted break in every time you disable it ?

If so it is definately not set up properly.

I just had a look in my dynatron user manual and it doesn't have anything useful about how to configure it (other than "please contact your vendor for more information").

That's weird dude... I've got a 7800 series, and they told me the code I needed over the phone (for changing the turbo timer from 3 mins to 1 min).

I can give you the sequence to get into the programme mode, but the actual code for the interior light you'll have to get from Dynatron.
I'll look them out tonight and post it up for you tomorrow.

I just tried calling Dynatron in Albany however they said I had to come into their office and get it done by one of their install people.

The problem: I'm in Botany, they are in Albany. And it'll cost a small fortune to do something as small as this. He even admitted it'd only take 30 seconds but would not tell me at all over the phone.

    Assholes.

That's so weird... they really didn't put up much resistance when I called...

They've probably realised how much extra cash they can make by being obstructive about it...

Yea and all I want to do is increase the 1 minute to 3 minutes. In fact I didn't even know about it until you mentioned changing yours from 3 minutes to 1

    So, how about that code?

lol I had a Blitz Dual FATT one. Built in boost gauge etc. etc.

It's too easy to break into cars and start them with the turbo timer, that's why it was removed in favour of the GPS and turbo timer system built into the Dynatron alarm...

I would take it back to where I got it but it was in Wellington. I tried the Albany branch as well and they told me the same thing. I might try them again tomorrow and as long as they say they will do it for free then I may as well just stop being so stubborn and get my A down there

Thanks for looking into it though guys

Just to clarify Osiris' comment (if I can... with my limited understanding)

A turbo timer is basically a switch which keeps the ignition line open for a given time period.
If you have an aftermarket one visible in the car, it gives a thief direct access to your ignition line. Of course, they'll have to know which wires to twiddle with, or how to over-ride the turbo timer... Point is, it shows them where the ignition line is, if they didn't already know.

The timer in the Dynatron alarm is basically an upgraded circuit in the alarm itself, so it's hidden from view. It basically takes one of the stages from the dual stage alarm system, and puts a timer on it.
