Sometimes, just when I don't want it.
Right, getting ready for a pass, in third, boost winding up nicely, accelerating hard, the engine keeps going, but the car does not seem to pick up at the same time, then it catches.
I'm worried at this stage

if its a manual, bung clutch,
if a auto, could be the torque converter or autobox?
Do you hear revs fluctuating at any times?

A Manual box, just had the both clutch cylinders replaced.
Revs don't fluctuate, just under hard acceleration they rise as normal, but drive does not kick in.
Was thinking of the clutch myself, but don't want to.
It's the only logical thing that could be causing it, there is nowhere else in the drivetrain that could let the revs increase without an increase in speed (unless your car is really really borked!)
its your clutch diude but heres a temp fix... take the grommet out out the bellhousing so you can look up and see the flywhell etc. no with an air gun blow out the dust (wearing a mask obviously). what happens is the dust builds up the elease bearing sticks slightly so at 3500 - 4000 when max torque is being used the clutch slips.
your clutch is most likly screwed but yeah, i have had the same prob for 6 months now on and off. i do what i have just said and it will be fine for 2 months or until i ride the clutch too much!
yep your clutch is on the way out man be careful with it and start savin now
Same problem here dude. I've only noticed the slippage on 3 occasions though.
Check out this thread http://www.clubvr4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=13959 On page 2 there's a bit of a discussion about the lay shaft bearing, which could also be a problem. Get in on the clutch group buy (if it goes ahead) and hopefully save some moolah.
