3" exhaust piping and muffler modification

Ye last week i took my car to the muffler shop and got a 3" piping put in , i took out all silencers , catback converter , every thing and replaced the catback converter with a 3 " straight piece . So it is a 3" straight piece right from where the catback converter was in and at the end i put on a turbo race muffler. this modification cause the turbos's to get up to full boost quicker and cause me so feel the gear changes more , it also made the car faster than before and gave it more torque. I will take some pictures of it this weekend and post them

I never seen anyone replace segments of the exhaust before, if you dont mind me asking how much did you spend for that work done?

I guess the UK emmisions test is not really an issue in Barbados!!!

Within the next few weeks I should have 5 fully stainless flanged Cat Replacement pipes ready for sale........price is to be confirmed, about £35 seems right. Could do £40 including gaskets I guess.

We will see........watch out for the post!

Im not sure about Barbados but here in the Us its safe to say that any twin turbo charged car will pass emissions. If a 3000gt with striaght piping passes our 2.5L counterpart should have no problem.

I thought emmissions was the reason you didn't have the VR-4 in the US?

After looking closely at the vr4 an the us ES I noticed the difference in size of the front steal bumper. If you remember the problem the US guys were havingwith JDM bumpers where the argument was to just remove the steal bumper. The FCC here has high standards for front end impact, it was also the contributing factor of keeping the Evolution out for so long.

I do like the idea of not having any o2 sensors on the exhaust

Errr......without an O2 sensor the engine would be all over the place?? The O2 sensor is used to tell the engine controller whether more or less fuel is required........I guess you mean you like the idea of not having a cat?

Yes your right I was still thinking like a US galant where it has Pre cats with an o2 sensor there. When I looked at the downpipe of the vr4 and didnt see a precat nor 02 sensor I started to celebrate!
