    Disable traction control

How do I permanently disable traction control on an ASC and TCL equipped car? Mine kicks in at the most annoying times and I always forget to turn it off. I never had it on the purple vr-4, just AYC and it felt so much better around corners.

I would like to keep the ASC working if possible, but force the traction control to be automatically set to off when turning the car on, rather than defaulting to being on.

Install an E-Manage Ultimate. It puts the ECL light on and permanently disables the TCL
I'm the same as you Brad. Always got TCL off, but keep forgetting and go to push hard out of a corner and get the dreaded power loss and cars nose going wide Where as with TCL off, power out of corner, pushing the rear end out

Seriously though ! Is the not a fuse you just pull ??

Unfortunately the white car is going to stay stock! I couldn't justify an emanage, the real mods go into the purple one

I think you can just pull a fuse but it also disables ASC.

Is there a light on the dash for ASC ?

How bout just cut the injector wires and put a small resistor in line. The stock ECU will pick up the change in resistance, thus illuminating the ECL and TCL light and turning the TCL off permanently.

Extreme measures i know But if you want something so bad, nothing should get in your way

the ASC light only comes on when I'm doing something really silly around a corner, or when I first turn the car on.

I'd prefer to not have the engine check light on the whole time though, in case something does go wrong and I do need to see the light come on

what about doing something with the tcl switch? would it be possible to connect two pins there so that when the car is turned on it thinks the driving is holding the switch down in the off position. That might work. I will try holding it down tomorrow. I hope something that simply will work

Actually, i think your onto something there. The OE switch isn't a switch that stays in the off position is it ! It must work on a microswitch basis. But once the ignition is turned off, and because the switch is in the normal position the TCL reverts back to on. So maybe if you change the switch to a standard on off type it may work. Let us know the outcome

I might try some tape today to hold the button down, and see what happens Probably the easiest way to do it at first.

i know this is an old thread... but did anything eventuate from it?
you cant tape the switch down, as when you turn the car back on it turns it back on again

I wanted to sell it because it was an auto vr-4 that chewed through the petrol and attracted more attention than a manual n/a v6 that I have now
