    13T vs. stock spool time.

I just made a video of how 13Ts spool up.

Conditions:-14C, slippery roads, but car never lost grip... unlike in 1st, 2nd and even third gear pulls. So it was 4th gear pull from low speed and WOT from around 1000rpm. Two pulls. Had to release the throttle while it was above 0,55-0,57 kg/cm2.... cause it was dark and I just didn't want to hit anything... again...

    Here are the results:
(I can't insert images from outside - so they will be attached to this message)
Btw, I took "readable" screenshots... they are not all from one pull, If anybody wants to verify I can probably get video somewhere online.. although it's 23mb in size.

Hope anybody can do the same on stockers? So we can see the difference? and may be even "single turbo guys" will chime in and let us know how their cars behave?

PS: Finally got rid of some of the bad boost leaks! All with the help of "smoke machine" ... Smoke came outta places I never thought existed...

    Interesting

I have my old rolling road readout from my last vr4.. would that help? I can take the rpm and boost off for that if you like?

There are differently sized plastic block off plates.. you just put one on your intake after the MAF (or before the MAF doesn't matter) and one just before the TB. Then you push lots of smoke inside under pressure ... It's quite easy to spot the leak when there is smoke coming out of place!

Was it with boost controller switched on or were wastegates actuators disconnected from a pressure source? Would be better to try with BC off to see the difference up to stock level of boost, but... hell... do they spin fast!!! 0,7 bar by 2000RPM?!? Are you sure? We will check soon with local VR-4 and same conditions...

That makes sense As the higher the gear would allow the Boost to rise higher before the revs rise to much..

I think data needed for comparison is Boost against time, not rpm And at the same boost levels and gear

    Hi Valmes

Yep, boost controller was set to 0.9bar if i remember correctly.

My current setup is similar, about full boost by 2500ish rpm...

    Heres my old RR printout..

    P3 is boost in Psi.

Heres the torque graph, figures themselves dont mean much:

    Torque, all at 2000/2500rpm:

Hmmm... no that's not mine. Well, I bought some of that stuff off yahoo.co.jp, but the actuall setup was done by someone in Japan... I am still going for Twin Turbo setup. Just wanted to know some opinions on what that single can provide in terms of spool up...

I did a couple runs today to compare with Valmes 13T spool time.
    Run1, from 1000rpm in 4th gear... .57 kg/cm2 @ 3000rpm approx.
    Run2, from 1000rpm in 4th gear... .61 kg/cm2 @ 3000rpm approx.
Stockers rule for instant boost !!!

Can't quite see the RPM side clearly on the video, looks like you start off at 2500rpm? Can you make one in high quality?

    2500 .5 bar?
    3000 .8 bar?
    3300 1 bar?

    Can you clarify?
