    MTB Meets

Now we are in to the New Year I was wondering if any of the CVR4 mountain bikers are planning on any meets. I want to get myself in to a decent state of fitness again so I was wondering if anyone had anything planned.

    That'll be cold.

I think I need to get out on my bike at home before tackling some the the Welsh stuff. A bit hardcore for a first ride of the year I think.

If anyones local-ish or doesn't ming driving, we could do a 26 miler around Rutland Water in Feb or something. Anyone fancy that?

Got a lot on at the moment - I'd be interested in meets from the end of March.

Rutland, Grafham or the peaks would be fine for me. Can mainly do weekends as my weekdays are pretty chocka.

Dont talk about it! DO IT!

Been out today for the first ride since boxing day. Was excellent, if very muddy and rather slippy, make that very slippery! Bike caked with mud, far too many sideways incidents.
And it was warm enough for shorts!
    No longer empty and frantic...

It's always warm enough for shorts you big puff.

Col, never done Grafham, but isn't it just like Rutland but shorter? Either or for me, what Saturday are you free? If we go early we'll be done for mid morning.

Depends on which route you take around Rutland (as I found out the first time I rode around it and took the longer, more scenic route). I think that Grafham is about the same distance as the shorter route around Rutland.

It is fairly flat with some paved, some road but mainly tracks. I would think that it would take less than an hour to get round. Just let me know when you are free one weekend and we can meet up.

    Sunday Col?

Rutland is either 17 miles or 23 and Grafham is only 10. I'm happy to do either, we could always go around Graham twice if we're in the mood.

Which is nearer for you? Grafham is just down the road from me so would be easy getting there and back in a day, and you could always pop in for a cup of coffee as well.

We'll do Grafham Col, the distance isn't a big deal in my DIESEL!

Sounds fine to me, where abouts do you want to meet.

I am guessing Glenn that you will be joining us for the pint and the burger, but not for the bike ride

Your only a couple of stone heavier than me, and it's only 10 miles. C'mon, good time to shift some of the Christmas excess and it's not as if you don't need to is it

I'm a big cyclist, if you guys come down to South Wales (afan, cwmcarn?) I'd glady join you. CYB is a bit far for me, although I will go as far as Nant yr Arian, as its simply the best place in the UK as far as I'm concerned!

    Love my MTBing too!!!!!
When possible I get up to Afan(s Wales) or Coed y brenin (mid)
I'm based in London but cycle most weekends in the surrey hills.
Anyone that would like to arrange a surrey hills day jaunt or even a welsh mountain weekend fest that would be cool....
    Cheers all
