Im pretty sure you can, aye.
yes you can
ok, think ill replace all the bolts when i start my work... make life easy.
Thanks for the replies.
How about an iron monger if standard bolts cheaper?
No longer a VR4 owner
Im loking to replace most of the bolts around suspension/hubs/ blah blah..
recon they will do the right sizes? i honestly have no idea whether they would or not.
i got four bolts for the calipers from miti cost over £20.00 and the bolts were only about 10mm long

when i have looked most are standard thread sizes and lengths the only prob is that jap use even bolt head sizes Ie m8 bolt has a 13mm AF hex head for a uk bolt where as on the jap stuff it is 12mmAF. So you may end up with a mix of bolt sizes.
this did catch me out as a few times went for a 13mm knowing that is what should be on that bolt size then finding it to loose

THat must be a difference between some tinkerers to my mate good Mechanic its a 13mm bolt?
hmmm, i suppose - but on the other hand you could just change them all to the same size, atleast the ones in the same area, on both sides... if that makes sense...
that will be the good thing in doing it that way rather than the replacing by the tried and tested "Lost bolt plus one extra" method
getting them from an iron monger is a very good idea, the only prob is you might need to shop around for the M fine that you might need for some bolts (not necessarily suspension bolts).
as stue has said head size may be different but if you replace them all it will not be a issue.
..... Thats the planOriginally Posted by richy rich

your socket set is chrome plated
Good point actually!Originally Posted by richy rich
Erm, how much would it increase the size of the bolt? i.e. if you do a 12mm... could you still use a 12mm?
You are not SERIOUSLY contemplating chrome plating all your bolts are you??? You're nuts!!!!
