Still waiting for mate to drop off Dremel
Getting bored, so sprayed on some primer to see what like...
Arrgggghhh, just want to get it done lol...
It'll certainly be a work of art when you've finished
/insert europe melody.
Its the final sand down ... tedeee dee deeeeee....
oohh its loooooking schwwweeeetttt
just applied the last couple tiny bits of filler, nother 20 minutes and its done...
pics to folllowwwwww
lol!!!
......I think u need a shower mate !
k, im pretty much done now....
Im still not 100% its gonna be ok... but i suppose ill not know untill its in the car, with all the dials in.... at that point ill make a descision whether to keep it, or bin it.
anyways, some pics, there are still a few minor dints that need addressing, but ill use poly filler for that
This is the top, the bit you will see through the window, hence it being as smooth as a babys bottom.
The bottom side, the bit facing dash... not really bothered about quality there.
Top view, which looking at it now shows one of the facia areas being a bit wonky
The one with the gauge in will allow for large gauge, which was the whole idea..
And the other two holes populated.
As you can see theres still a wee bit of sanding to do to make the circles more.. erm.. circular but overall im pretty chuffed with it...
il put it in the car tomorrow before i spend ANY more time on it and decide whether im gonna keep it or not.
additionally, i may also see what it will look like with large gauges... so that there isnt as much of a erm.. border for want of a better word.
lol couldnt wait!
ill take some pics in the day light tomorrow... but looking at it in the car, it looks way better... but, im still not 100% satisfied.
Brilliant, absolutely brilliant ........ I'd be very chuffed with making that!
PS: I've named it: Tri-Pod

I'll pop by this evening and check it out for real!
"With sufficient thrust, pigs fly just fine. However, this is not necessarily a good idea. It is hard to be sure where they are going to land, and it could be dangerous sitting under them as they fly overhead."
That looks sweet.....
It will look good when its finished, don't worry.
The creator always look's more critically at a work of art than an admirer.
Despite the cost of living its surprising how popular it remains! Feel free to swim in my fishbowl anytime!
looks, great and better than many of the pillar pod mounts ones, especially for a diy job, Re the paint finish, you can buy aerosols of textured fleck stone spray,

if the colour doesn't match up close enough, refinish with interior car paint

The jobs kinda on hold atm, i need to buy gauges so i can complete it, round the edges off around the gauge faces etc....
once i have them ill continue again.
sexy! it doesn't look like it will get in the way of vision too much either.
Will you be reproducing these for the purchase of other members. I would definitely buy one.
