As the title says. the cheaper the better, preferably a well maintained one.
Tiptronic O.K, must be under 150,000k.
If you see anythng around, just holler !!
I should never have sold mine

Check out my gallery and look at my white one.
I got it at 117km, and since then have had ralliart do a full service on it, changing the trans and engine fluid with Amsoil, replaced the AYC diff, etc (it reached into the 4 figure bracket!) It was purchased with a dead auto gearbox, I got the one installed from my facelift car, and has been running great since. It has the black leather interior and I'd want to sell it with the black 5-spoke ralliart wheels that are in some of the pics. It's now at 127km.
Make me an offer - I do remember when you sold your one, it wasn't that long ago was it?
So it has the 280hp ecu ? What's the body like ?
does it have...MMCS ? Sunroof ? Nardi steering wheel ? ( Wood or leather ? )
5 speed tippy ?
It's pretty much what I'm after, do you still have the centre piece from the front bumper.
Yeah probably sold mine just under 6 months ago, i bought something small and economical ( No i wont say what ...)
But the novelty of economy has long worn off !!
I have the feeling that because it's had a bit of work done on it, you'll be after more than i'm wanting to spend though...
It has the 260hp ecu in it, but I have the 280hp ecu spare.
It doesn't have mmcs or a sunroof, it has a wooden nardi steering wheel, and the 5 speed tip box. Never had the centre thing for the bumper.
It hasn't really had much work done to it, it is 100% stock mechanically, I just wanted the best possible service done to it.
We saw it on the Workshop day, its a tidy car inside and out, and the gearbox cant have too many k's on it. Apart from brad doing donuts around his lawn i'm sure it would be a safer bet mechanically than something fresh off the boat.Originally Posted by fatmikenz
yeah it is a nicely looked after car I was stoked with it, especially considering I bought and paid for it when it was in Wellington and I hadn't seen it before it got delivered.
hmm ok. not really what i'm after but will keep it in mind, thanks
how much is a full service from mitsi or ralliart usually?
oh and bradc would you be keen to sell that ecu?
berg - if you want your AYC, ATF and all other fluids done, expect it to be $500-900. If you want your cambelt plus everything else done, then expect it to be around $1500. Ralliart are the best place though
I'm keen to sell the ecu, $150 and it's yours
150 sounds good! im in chch at the moment and i need/want to get a good service done before i drive home to auckland, cambelt is was done at 77k so just looking for a normal service. will i be hard to fit the ecu into my 97 tip vr4?
it is really quite easy to do. I don't have the ecu at the moment anyway, it's with my car, I will need to check that they still have it spare, and probably go and pick it up on a saturday morning from them.
i thought everyone decided it wasnt a ecu diff,
but a wastegate actuator diff that made the power diff??
(could be wrong i dont own a vr4)
meh, i really wouldnt know ay im still learning bout vr4's i need to spend the money on a servie anyway :@
They do something with the boost control and alter the overall tune slightly (facelift manual ecu's give mre torque than prefacelift manual ecu's)
I'll take it for $150 if its not promised to someone else if it be good for a 98 preFL leggy?
I can have it in your bank account tommorow morning if it helps your decision
How much can you afford coz theres a supper leggy here in chch for $1100
djb - I'll wait for berg to confirm he wants it first.
Can you link to the $1100 legnum?
Ill see if I can find it online.
