    Ayc Failure

Hi all you helpful souls. Thanks to the website my local dealer has just missed out on £2600 for a new AYC pump.
My VR4 is a 2001 UK car and I am lead to believe that it has the S-ATC as fitted to EVO 7, 8 and 9. Pump type is CT9A. Can anyone confirm this because I've found a second hand one through MLR for £450.00
Also although I am reasonably competant mechanically I am not great with hydraulics and was just wondering if anyone would like to give me a hand to do the job of changing them over. I live in Shoreham which is on the south coast between Brighton & Worthing. I/ll happily pay an hourly rate plus travelling expenses plus all the tea/coffee you can drink.

dunno if the ayc pumps interchangable,

but the mitsi cap's part data base list them as different parts with differnt part numbers

    heres the facelift vr4 one

    heres the evo7+ one

and as you can see the mounts/lines plugs/connectors are all different.
personally i would PM "zedy1" and ask him iof he has a good vr4 ayc pump to sell

I think Gly is correct the version on the VR4's is standard AYC and was the same as on 4,5 & 6 evos , from 7 onwards they went to S-AYC which is a different setup

Are you sure it is the pump that has gone as it maybe the pressure switch which can be replace for around 100th of the cost of a new pump

Or the pump maybe able to be refurbished via Roger

Thanks guys. However I am now quite confused as my dealer said the part number is MR553977 and it is type CT9A. Does this mean anything to anyone ?
