Wink Rolling Road - Expectations and Excuses!

Thinking of the recent thread regarding the.... 'Interesting' claim of one ebayer that a decat and HKS copy filter would net 330bhp, I thought it would be interesting to see what we're all expecting our cars to put out on the day - and the reasons & excuses why!

So, here's the list - I'll start the ball rolling and then update with people's expectations as we go:

    1- Caishanvr4 - Expecting 260bhp+ (Revised)
    2- GT4
    3- 328
4- Wodjno - Expecting nothing, would like 300bhp+
    5- Nutter John - Expecting 270bhp
    6- Kieran - Expecting 235bhp (Revised)
7- BernMcCloudCookooLand - Expecting 280bhp (Pump sucking Noddy car with a 'Little' 3.5 litre engine)
    8- colVR4 - Expecting ?bhp, would like 280bhp
    9- StuartTurbo - Expecting 240bhp, would like 290bhp
    10-nick mann ?
    11-Wrdmotorsport
    12-Wrdmotorsport
    13-Pedro fandango 850 T
    14-Lo fasty ?
    15-Benh GTO - Expecting 613bhp (blimey!!!)
    16-The vee ?
    17-Pezza ?
    18-Tourag V10
    19-Soapy1978 - Expecting 309bhp+, would like 350bhp+
    20-Iboots Expecting 180bhp, would like 200+bhp (It ain't your usual V6!!)
    21-Crossbow
    22-White lightning?
23-Soapys mate in GTO Expecting 310bhp+

    Expecting: 250bhp

    Reason why:
Running standard boost currently, still got the standard cat on the car and I am still troubleshooting erratic boost levels and very poor MPG (140 miles out the last tank!), which I think is hurting power. I therefore expect that any improvements from the intercooler, exhaust and air filter on the car are being canceled out.

    But should be nearer 290bhp
boast now up to 0.85bar and a full decat and system and ARC box(will be fitting there K may try to get it done on rollers if they let me for pre and post HKS for all the how much does the HKS lose)

Okay peeps - I'll update the list.

Oh, to clear up any confusion - I'm on about power at the flywheel, not at the road wheels.

I would be really happy with 350bhp

But will be realistic and suggest a figure of 270 fly-bhp

Well, since the last RR I have fitted a new stainless exhaust, Apexi S-AFC and a manual boost controller at 0.85 bar (hoping that the Greddy Profec gets fixed before the RR).

On my last outing I only got 174 bhp atw, which translated to about 246 bhp atf.

Any guesses what I am going to get this time? I am hoping for about 280 bhp atf.

Crumbs! Well, as it's a facelift it should have left the production line with 280bhp. It's difficult to say what it'll run on the day - age, mileage and the fact that our petrol isn't as good (in terms of octane content and cleanliness) than the Jap stuff will all have a knock-on. ColVR-4 got 247bhp at the flywheel last time, I think that was on a standard car.

Having looked at the results others got at the last rolling road day, I am going to revise my estimate!

I'll go for 235bhp at the flywheel instead. Final Answer.

(There'll be trouble at t'mill if I get lower than that! )

I'll be bringing the Nissan which is completely stock so *should* spit out 280BHP at the flywheel.

    Wow
Just looking at other peeps figures im going to do a kieran and drop my expected figure to 250-260 fly-bhp
If nutter john is only quoting 270 with his manic manual then i have to be more realistic
I think some fine tuning is needed atm to get it to even my expected figures now

Yup, my car was bog standard last time I took it for a RR. However, I did suspect that it had a bit of a leak somewhere because the standard boost was a bit low. Since then I have replaced the hard pipe in to the inlet manifold as the rubber grommit thing was perished...has made quite a difference. £50 well spent.

Worth checking yours if you have problems with it slipping off under high boost!!
