    Facelift or pre facelift, pros and cons?

    Hi All,

    What are the pros and cons of buying a pre face lift, versus facelift model Legnum (or Galant)?

    Things I've already sussed out are:

    Facelift autos have the same power output as manual, pre facelift autos have 20ps less stock.

    Facelift brakes can be easilly upgraded to Brembos from an EVO 5-7 (what about 8's and 9's) Lancer.

    What else is there (other than the obvious of the facelift being a bit newer)?

    You have mentioned the main factors, but there is also the looks factor.

    I prefer the way the Facelift Galant looks.

    The facelifts also sometimes come with recaro seats and a momo wheel which the prefacelifts never do (unless you find a super vr-4 wagon and they are very rare)

    The pre-facelift autos also have traction control and stability control, which is another good reason to avoid them.

    The facelifts come in less colours, but the colours they do have are better. all models came in white, silver, black and ugly purple (see my car) but the facelifts came in a very nice deep red (look for Xeroid) and dark blue (look for Gly, Nick Mann). All of the colours unique to the prefacelifts are ugly, and thats just a fact of life

    Other things to look out for is the massive sun roof that comes with some cars, leather upholstery and to make sure that if you do get a facelift you get one with wheel arches (again see my car) this is a fairly good indication you will get AYC and a high-vis dash, while facelift cars without the wheel arches will have an LSD at the back and a normal dash.

    OOOOOh, that's fightin talk!.

    The pre faclift, original beautifully designed Legnums are definitely the best looking!!!!.
    Brembos from V on will all fit.

    Nah, don't get your hopes up, I just meant the brembos from a 5 onwards will fit on the post facelift hub carriers, (not just up to the 7, as stated) my brembos are off an evo VIII, but I have fitted the post lift carriers. (sorry for confusion)

    any evo 5-9 brembo's will fit without a problem, but only on a car with facelift hub carriers

    yup i dont like the facelift bumper aye! plus i have a manual so the powernthing aint a factor! and besides at the end of the day Aus_Legnum, what ever you buy its gonna be a zillion time better than the ba falcon you own!
