Has been, but always worth an update.

I am now joint MD of a company called Tamar Finance Ltd.

Our main core business is debt management, along with being brokers for IVA's, secured loans and remortgages.

As the business is quite new I am doing several roles at present including:

sales, accountancy, HR roles, business development etc. - damn hard work, scarey employing other people, yet rewarding as at least it's for us for once.

Not your average 9-5 then? I've not seen a thread like this, and as a relative newbie, it'd be interesting.

So from one extreme to the other; I don't work at the moment, I have Crohns disease Used to install artificial practice areas for cricket clubs though, in one of my many employments (civil servant, petrol station manager, wood machinist, silk screen printer, general manager for a recovery firm.etc. etc.)

Best job had to be doing pre-delivery inspections on plasma TV's, got to get paid for watching DVDs all day.

I'm an Applications Engineer with specific responsibility for audio products, working for a semiconductor company.

What that means is that when we design a chip that's for audio use, my job is to design reference circuits for that chip to demonstrate to customers, and help customers design it into their equipment. My last reference design was a subwoofer amp, 500W into 4ohms, better than 0.05% distortion to 90% full power (still less than 0.2% at full power) and 93% efficient.
It's been a crazy year, But through all the damage done,
I have turned and I have learned, To make next year a better one,
    Singing Oh Hallelujah,
    Singing Oh I am home.

I gave up work some 12 years ago - work was simply too tiring and it sucks!

Used to have my own businesses in Hong Kong & subsequently Dubai.

However Ingocaius, it may interest you to know that I used to be Export Manager at Wadkin Ltd (Woodworking machinery & tooling). I'm guessing that you will have heard of them as well as Bursgreen Ltd which is very close to you in Houghton-le-Spring.

Deja-vu. Except pay is only so-so and I'm suffering from ageism, so struggling to move on.

IT Manager for the MoD, currently supporting the only Aviation Unit in the Army. Soon to be back as an IT support engineer for the MoD in Germany. I always preffered the hands-on side of things, trying to do paperwork in the MoD is like pulling teeth, and what car nut would turn down the opportunity to work in Germany with free housing and cheap fuel, not forgetting tax free cars!
Thankfully I don't do the sort of hours John does!

i build esx hosts, create virtual machines, configure them, template them write design guidelines, train the indians in how to use it and spent 3 hours out of every day in meetings, discussing meetings...
