    Tachometer Conversion

How do you convert the Galant 6 cylinder tachometer to work with the input signal from a four cylinder engine?

Some sites I've seen say to put a 5K Ohm potentiometer across the tacho contacts and adjust untill it reads correctly.

    Any comments/suggestions/answers?

    Ta!

Seems an odd mod? The input should be a frequency and therfore putting a pot across it will reduce the amplitude but not the frequency? Not certain but it sounds a bit odd to me! I would get a frequency to voltage converter and a voltage to frequency converter..............but I am mad..........quite mad indeed!
