1998 Galant VR4 No Fwd only reverse

Hi i have a 1998 galant vr4 with tip trans it reverses fine, but when i put it into drive or select 1,2,3,4,5 it is the same as being in nuetral. Any ideas would be most appreciated. I also want to join club vr4 but don't have a credit card, can i just send the cash to some one maybe. Also i dont know how the car got this way as i bought it from a repo auction.

That sounds like you have a real typical auto box failure i'm affraid. I've seen that one a couple of times.

Check the TCU and obvious stuff like fluid, but that does sound like a cooked box i'm affraid.

yeah i think so too, just got a transfer case and box today will become a member in a couple of days so bound to find so info on doing the conversion
