smoked side indicators - where to get

Does anyone know where I can purchase smoked black side indicators for my Pyrenees Black Legnum? Can only find clears on trademe.

    Thanks!

PS on a black car, what's better smoked or clear side indicators? Currently have amber ones.

Just in case SGHOM didn't make it obvious enough, there is spray on tint you can buy. You could just spray the tint on and get a brighter bulb to shine through the tint. You should also use a high gloss spray paint to darken the reflective surface inside the indicator aswell.

Otherwise search TM regularly. A few pop up from time to time. Don't just search legnum or galant side indicatiors either as I think a few of the evos have the same side indicator design.

    Hi there,

    That looks very nice.

    Thanks!

On a side note, anyone notice how most of the clear and smoked indicators that are availbable are of a dome type that doesn't sit flush with the side of the car? The stocker amber VR-4 indicator is much flatter and does not stick out. I wonder how much my air resistance will increase if I get smoked or clears?

Other people have mentioned previously that they don't like the bulged out look of the repeaters, but it's not really noticeable with a black on black colour scheme. Just remember if you get non-amber repeaters to get some amber bulbs, mine already had them from the clear repeaters.

heres my car, dont ask me why the previous owner put clear repeaters on, and smoked fronts. i think dark car, smoked indicators. the fronts done like mine, suit a darker car, than the clears on the side of my car.

    edit:wtf i attached a pic to this

By the way, fitting new side repeaters will be my first mod to the car, after two years of ownership! With smoked repeaters my ryde will be be pretty darn cool, I reckon!

Uc has the bulging style black ones and even though his car is black they are still quite noticable. I prefer the flat ones personally.

Since my little.....mishap..... I've had clear indicators on the back. The Standard Jap ones have an orange tint to the plastic whereas I've now got a set of later UK-spec ones. They're indentical except there's no orange in the reflector plastic. They do look very nice.

I am now considering a set of clear side indicators and clearing the fronts too, but I really don't like the buldge of the aftermarket clear indicators you get. If I could find some flat ones, I'd snap them up!

I think that bulge is required to make it visible enough with the smoke black look. The orange flat ones sort of glow when you use them and the white ones reflect pretty well too.

Since black doesn't reflect, people behind you will need to see the bulb in the indicator, rather than just the light it throws. Makes poerfect sense to me.

The after market clear side indicators bulge as well. I suspect the reason they do is that they are copying the OEM Mitsubishi indicators that came on some later model non-VR4 galants that bulged as well.

Also why do people behind you need to see your side indicator when they can see the indicator in your tail lights?

Anyway, I ordered some smoked units from TM last nite. The old wagon is gonna be really pimp now!

I may have been under the influence of BBQ smoke (or something ) but I am sure L6 has flat clear side indicators
