    New memeber looking for advice

    Hi everyone

After three years driving an Omega MV6 with 250BHP, I am about to buy a VR4 estate. Could you as members and totally unbiased!! recommend them and what should I look for on a 31,000 specimin. Any help would be gratefully appreciated as I have never even sat in one yet. I am going to view it on Thursday. :rolleyes5

    Welcome!

Your best bet is to get yourself down to a decent newsagent and buy a 'Japanese Performance Magazine'. In this months edition there are two VR4 articles, and one is a buyers guide, featuring Simons car. Trying to post the information would take longer than getting a copy of the mag!

As an owner of a VR4 estate (often called Legnum) I would reccomend them to anyone! Not biased or anything!

Hope the info there helps, and good luck.

Yeah, excellent read, though I had to try a couple of times to get it. I didn't realise my ralliart uk imported car was one of only 200 sold, makes me feel special!

The VR4 Estate is simply stunning! And you will note in the 1/4 mile times it hauls ass over the saloon!!! Well mine does

Buy it but be prepared for high running costs, but after all this is a supercar!

It will save a lot of time on future "What do I look for when buying....." type questions from new users.....just point 'em that way until we have it set up here :-D :-D

Many thanks for your comments :-D I have downloaded the buyers guide and will take it with me when I look at the car in question. One of you mentioned high running costs, I assume that is standard maintenance and tyres. The MV6 has 235/40ZR17's on and I was wearing them in 12,000 max, so i am used to tyre wear. The cam seems the major cost and is compaparble to the Omega which was £350 just for the belt change. It has not put me off anyway so I will let you know how it goes.

    Thanks again for your advice

Dunno about wheels and tyres, but a belt change service is £800 with regular 4500mile ones dropping in just below £300!

    Cool

FUEL!!!! MAN OH MAN THE LEGNUM DRINKS FUEL!!!!

20mpgs on a good day with a small tank means lots of visits to the tax mans special little petrol outlet.

    did i mention fuel?

however.... 0-60 sub 6 secs in an estate car and quicker than those pesky scoobies... makes ur day big style!

The more you tell yourself that you have the superior car, the more you are likely to believe it! This self dillusion is not healthy!

As a moderator I must insist the personal insults cease immediately.....

    oh wait..............

its the first Sunday of the month so thats fine..................ok, carry on :-D

Kieran, it's time to face facts mate - none of us really give a s*it about fuel consumption and if we did we would all downgrade to a GLS anyhow.....we know you want a VR4, you know you want a VR4 and Alex knows you want a VR4.....get a Vauxhall and end the misery
