Sold my beloved Galant - just want to share my sadness!

Just sold my Galant today. She was the most ever car I have loved. I have been trying to prepare myself psycologically for this.. Althougth I have a V6, but I must say it was hard to see her go, I couldnt even deal with the buyer properly. Anyway I was suprised, the buyer did not even bother to test or try anything in the car!!! Well it atleast went to someone who has been driving Mitsubishi's only for the last 15 years!

Thanks Ian, I couldnt afford to have two Galants anymore, and with a girlfriend living in 220 miles away, my expeness are just going sky high! The plan now is use the money to convert my V6 to LPG and maybe spend a bit money on some small things here and there on the car just to make it up to myself

lool It was the cost of having two insurance policies that was killing me, and also I couldnt justify to myself why I have 2 Galants considering my finiancial circumstances!
I never fancied diesels, but yeah maybe i should find a local posh bird

I know how you feel. Part of me was very gutted when I sold my GLS.

Mind you, now you can LPG the V6 and who knows, maybe you'll be smitten all over again!

Thanks Kieran. The V6 compared to the 2.0 its not too bad, in town I used to get 20-30 miles more in a full tank, whereas on motorways they both did the same mpg.
Been quoted £1200 for the LPG conversion, I think its a resonable price?

Is it for the old type single point system as I would expect the multipoint to be about £1600. You may notice quite a drop in power with the single point.

Thanks Peter. The system is a multipoint OMVL Dream XXI N, have you ever come accross it?

Yes had that one on my last Range Rover .Not a bad system and a good price if it includes installation. You shouldn't notice any real loss in power. I have a copy of the software for it I think. Not all the installers will provide this.

Yes the price does include instalation plus 2 years warranty. I never thought about the software, thanks for bringing this up, I will check with garage!
What the does the software enable you to do?

You can adjust the fuel trims and some other settings and save the data incase it is lost from the ecu. You need an interface cable as well. I'll be surprised if they are willing to let you have them though.

Contacted the LPG garage asking for the software, and they said they will provide me a copy of it... i didnt ask about the data cable, might need to buy it from somewhere else, will see.

That's good many of the installers can be a pain especially up here in the North East if they didn't do the install themselves.
