Thumbs down Who designs roads ??

15 minutes after leaving home, I arrive at work..... nearly. It's on a dual carriage/ring road in the city center. but on the other side of the road with no right turn
So..... I have to carry on another 600/700 yards to the next right turn. [ I suppose I could do a 'U' turn on the dual carriage way ?? ]
This takes me out of the new road system to a quieter area where I can find a side road to do a 3 point turn. sooooo....... It's now back towards work from the right direction. .... except it's buses only !! cars have to turn right back on to the ring road & away [ 600/700 yards ] from the direction I want to go
anyway... 20 mins later, I'm facing the right direction, on the right dual carriage way, so I can get on site.

    Brilliant..... absolutely brilliant planning.

hahaha come to newport mate, god knows what the hell they are doing there...they took the busiest part of the town centre, and completly cut off one road making it even busier, absoulete tards

kind of like the A449- if you come of the M4 and are in the wrong lane, or go up the A449, you have to drive like 12 miles before you can turn around and go back

A mate of mine is a civil engineer, he designs roads amongst other things for a living and has some hilarious stories of cock ups. For instance, he designed a road to pass through an estate not realising he had planned it to go through someones house as it wasn't on his maps and surveys, when the workmen turned up on site to start he was left very red faced.

Peasy, narrow the central reserve. Stopping junction 3 collapsing under the extra load is the clever bit.

Should be up and running in another 3 months, although the footbridge won't be finished until the sodding newts come out of hibernation.

trouble is the central res looks the same width as it was before, just without the trees

Trust me, it'll fit. If it doesn't, I'll be looking for a new job!
