How about the Cruise Control system available as an aftermarket fitment from Mitsubishi..?

Anyone know the part code / cost...?

I've noticed my new 03 V6 Elegance hasn't got cruise... Grrrr !

Very useful instructions - and on the set up and testing of the system...

I've ordered and had fitted the Mitsubishi approved system by Bridgend Mitsubishi on the 03 Galant V6-24v Elegance that I'm picking up this weekend.

The cost of the approved system, fully fitted too, was £649.00 including VAT - I haggled and got it for £600 all in.

So,£600 fitted by Mitsi or somewhwre around £125 to £130 for the kit. I'm going for the kit if anyone else wants one then let me know before Jan 1st.

I had it as standard on a couple of previous cars and absolutely hated it. Too much like Auto Pilot and lack of control - for me.

My 2.4 GDI has it, and I never even engaged it.

I've currently got it on my 6th generation Galant and although it nearly killed me once at 85mph on a motorway when the unit seized and wouldn't switch off, thus sending me hurtling at that speed when I wanted to slow down when I was coming into traffic, I've enjoyed it when driving at night / early mornings on a motorway with a clear stretch...

Granted this is the only time you can really use them properly - I've never tried it and never would in a 30mph / 40 mph zone as its not worth it and there are too many traffic lights to stop you!.

i use it everywhere, 30 limits especially. it saves the lazy ankle induced speed increases, i feel lost in the van without it

Got them from mitsu. Cost when I enquired was around 400-500 quid just for the parts.

Just received reply from them

"We do ship to the UK. Standard cost on the Gallant is 199.95 and manual transmissions require an additional clutch switch for 39.95. If you purchase 5 or more kits we can offer them to you for 179.95 and 32.95 for the clutch switch ( plus shipping )."

I am quite happy to buy 5 but not sure if you guys need the clutch switch, please let me know.

I had cruise control on my Octavia vRS. I found it very useful in 50mph limits on motorways. You could just get into the inside lane, slow to 50mph and then hit the cruise. And then no more worries about getting caught on a camera ...

That said I am in no rush to add it to the VR-4. Mainly because there are too many other things on "the list" already. And I don't have the £££ for those either at the moment ...

PLEASE NOTE:

a) I offer no guarantees whatsoever that the kit will fit or function correctly. I am merely organising a group buy to get discount and reduced delivery costs.

b) Customs charges cannot be predicted, it is down to the customs officer who clears it as to what they will charge. It could slip through without any duty and just VAT being added. On the other hand it could be 15% duty + VAT. So my best estimate is that minimum price will end up at around £130, max could be around £160 to £170 without the manual gearbox accessory.

I just need the cruise control kit - I don't need a manual transmission thingy as I have the gearbox of choice.
