Welly clock fixing work day

How about sometime in the new year, those of us with broken dash clocks, get together for a clock fixing workshop?

For my car it was an easy job to resolder the clock power joints - the difficulty was snapping the clock out of the dash.

Getting the clock out isnt an issue The soldering is for me

On my clock the solder joints were clearly broken, so it was just a matter of putting a dab of solder on each broken joint and then the clock was fine. I could certainly re-do a basic solder joint, but probably not much more than that, not that I think anything more is neccessary. As an alternatve, there is a bloke on trademe who will fix your clock for $20.

Or don't have the know-how. For those in Oz, we have a member called "GavDaniels" who can do that as well as look over your capacitors for you too

hw do ya get the clock out? does it just take a little force?

push up on the front shade lip, its just cliped down, quite tight

Yep - serious clippage! Lever it upwards, sometimes releasing the back first helps. Be careful not to damage the smoked plastic, though. That is easy to do if you apply a screwdriver for extra force!
