i did one on a T5 volvo last weekend, and trust me the i can garentee the 'liner will be a walk in the park after that. give me a rwd box anyday, and that box.
unfortunatly the floor and lift has moved to the bottom of list of things to do because of the decorating that she who thinks she must be obayed says is more important but i can get the car about 2 ft in the air with some careful jiggery pokery. so if you want us to do it i'm sure richy and myself can suss it easily.
and rich we can use bern as the gearbox trolley

spanners etc we are fine for, i suppose if any one has some meaty trolley jacks and axle stands then they will be handy , mine are looking a bit, well frail now , also means i can make a gearbox bracket for my trolly jack to make life easy

Good Good Good. Earlyish Saturday then? I'll bring some sockets and spanners too.

Got some LED rear lights as well if we're feeling ambitious...

And I'm built like Tyson as you all know, so there'll be some head-slapping to start off with

early start sounds good mate, extra tools are always handy, any ideas if any fancy tools are needed for the datsun gearbox? rear lights there was no bloody mention of rear lights at the start of this thread, i shall have to consult richy as to whether this is acceptable and if so what sort of bribe is needed.

Richy, do we accept cash as a bribe?

head slapping can you reach that high?

Money !!!????? You're talking crazy man! I have an ailing grandmother and 23 illegitimate children to support!

No special tools required - classified GrnH17305 - suitable for country yokels and barrel boys.

According to the GTR.uk boys, it goes like this:

    • Remove gearstick
    • Remove front & Rear propshafts
    • Undo clutch slave cylinder
    • Undo ATTESA piston from rear of transfer box
    • Undo as many bell-housing bolts as possible
    • Support g/box on Kieran
    • Remove gearbox crossmember mount
    • Lower gearbox (rear drops down angling the box)
    • Undo 2 electrical connectors
    • Undo remaining bell-housing bolts with 73 foot socket extension
    • Twist and slide box out

    4 hours with ramps5-6 without.

And then if you're bored, apart from baking lights rear in the oven, I have LEDS for the dashboard, a lengthy procedure for altering the speedo to make the rear wheel steer behave better. Involves multiple calibration runs with GPS speed check and a soldering iron....

mmmm... perhaps I can make sure everyone is so tired that they fall asleep before drinking the beer...

But on a serious note - it's the g/box that I need help with. Cosmetics are easy to do with no mates

Collecting box this Sunday. Hope that two of us can lift it. Mind you, with my massive fizeeqee, I'll probably be able to do it on my own...

2 prop shafts? i thought you wanted the liner doing not a frickin landrover, 2 bloody propshafts , i ask you, thats at least double the monetry bribe.

as for the speedo , theres a 2+ mile straight out the back of the village, which i use, but of course it is a public road, so 60mph only of course
