Heh, my tyres are only rated for 240km/h so I'd probably end up smearing myself and my car all over the surrounds...

coming down from the bombay hills to ramarama, you've got a 6-8% slope to start off with, then 5km of perfectly straight road from there
The 850CSi does 300kmh btw
is that from experience brad?
haha not yet.
imagine that cop!
I was gonna mention that place. It's really empty early in the morning and has been tempting
You know Brad .......... I'm not too sure that's a long enough drag to reach the VR4's 150 mph let alone the 'Beast's' 186 mph (300kph)Originally Posted by bradc
I reckon it would be fine
Do let us know how you get on Brad (include pics!)

Wigram wouldn't allow the use of the air field for that kind of event, they said no after the last time there was one out there
There are a few long straights down here that you can get up to just a hair over 240kmh
well bone stock I did about 170kph.... and somewhere after 140 ... the car just seems 2 drag .. I have a stock spoiler 4 crying out loud.. and I still get all that drag ... (thinking out loud)..... what do I need 4 moe power apart from an ecu...?
tiny island with curvy roads .... ... ohhhh!!! I luv drivin 2 work!!! Save a car....
Isnt that where the Top Secret GTR done 300km/h in the rain while he was here a couple years ago?Originally Posted by bradc
I'm always tempted to go off the clock there every time I drive up to Auckland! I saw 3 crashes all on that same stretch at the same time last time though, how people manage to crash there I dont know.
Daily driver / circuit car / drag car / show car / weekend cruiser / project car
I was on my way to auckland from whangas in my cousins legacy and there was a really long big hill at one point, so going up it with four of us in the car it still managed 240ish, I was impressed.
I'm not arguing...I'm just offering an endless series of contrary points of view.
what kinda leagcy? ol skool or new?
VR-4
Couple of generations old, three would be my guess. Yep 3rd gen. Had some mods not sure of all of them
the older models seem to go harder than the new ones!
the stock speed limiter in our cars i find is very easy to hit... that maybe sad but ive hit a few times... only need a about 2-3km of straight road if already cruising at 100kph... but then even from standstill i still find it easy.. now to just find the wire in the back of the ecu and give it the cut
At Pukekohe on the weekend I was hitting 225kmh every lap, I think the back straight is only about 1.2km long and I was coming onto it at about 80kmh or so.
225kmh.. is pretty good. is that top speed for your car brad, or was there not enough road!

Just make sure your undersealing is up to spec first.

A long stretch of sand once used for high speed runs, that's now off limits and is Peppered with Bombs!
I think you would need more than a decent underseal for protection
