**** 2008 Club Events ****

17th May. Japfest, Castle Combe. There will be a club stand and hopefully two club track sessions. Last years thread. This event is always well attended with it being the first big Japanese show of the season. Lets see if we can fill the two club track sessions this time!

1st June. JTS, Silverstone. This will be a new event for the club, with Silverstone track time available at only £20 a session. Bobby Bargain!! Plus a show ’n’ shine competition and competition in the European Drifting Championships and Time Attack.

21st-22nd June. Japshow, Santa Pod. A club stand, 2 days of RWYB, overnight camping etc. Last years thread.This is a good social event, with plenty of action on the drag strip and elsewhere. I would recommend running your car on saturday, as sunday gets very busy

15th July. SW Festival Of Motoring, Taunton Racecourse.Club stand, lots of various cars to see. A very chilled day out and it's all for charity - to raise money for Cancer Research. Last Years Thread. Come along, sit and chat, and get the BBQ going ! (Please note - CVR4 will not be having an official stand at this show)

29th-31st August. J.A.E., Mersea Island. A club stand at the biggest display of Japanese cars in Europe. Friday to Sunday, with camping available. Last years thread. This is the real social event of the year. Camping for one or two nights with a good relaxed atmosphere. This is a brand new location for this show, and should be more relaxed again, as the site is much bigger so will allow for areas for maximum noise etc...

2nd September. Trax, Silverstone. Club stand and track time. Last years thread. A good chance to drive the international circuit in your own car. There is plenty going on - Silverstone say the only day on their calendar bigger than this is race day for the F1!!

4th-5th October. Japshow, Santa Pod. The showdown. Now also a two day event, and as with the summer event I would recommend running on saturday - sunday is mad! Last years thread.

Grey-head, stop whinging! Germany is hardly a club event! I'm sure it will be a damn fine one, but it's not really something I'd include here. It's more of an expensive mini-meet!!

Adrian - The reason that show says TBC is because they haven't yet confirmed it. They have said that it will be the same venue as before, on the date that there is a Christian festival there. Seems a bit of a strange ground-share to me?

I dont know how much of a club event it could be, but it could work.... Possibly best to treat is as a mini meet sort of thing. Although it must be said that everyone should attend as it is a good day out and there should be some interesting things there this year.

I have to agree with Gareth on TOTB. If it becomes popular enough for us to look into bringing the gazebo & flags, then we'll make the effort to do that.
