Yes, they're very useful for clearing rain from the mirrors as well. All UK spec cars have these.
It's been a crazy year, But through all the damage done,
I have turned and I have learned, To make next year a better one,
Singing Oh Hallelujah,
Singing Oh I am home.
I onlly found this out the other day! Usually there's a little logo etched to the mirrors of a rear window demister meaning they are heated (at least my 6G Galant had this) but the 8Gs dont...
Nothing much happened with the mirrors with the heated rear screen on - until Sunday when the mirrors were misted up... and BINGO! Demisted mirrors!
Not sure about that Isaac ........ mine is a Japanese model (grey import) and it has the heated mirrors.Originally Posted by Isaac Sibson
I didn't mean to imply that the VR4s didn't... I just didn't know since I don't know little details like that about the japanese spec cars. However, that doesn't change that all UK spec cars have them...
My Legnum has 'open the window and wipe em with your fingers' mirrors.
'97 Manual Legnum in silver with some subtle mods
My first VR4 - '97 Legnum Dark Green & mean ...it was love at first sight - now sold
Yep, I have heated mirrors too, very useful with the cold snap as they managed to melt the ice very quickly - was cool seeing them steam too! Only read about it on here, never noticed it before. They are only useful for about 2 weeks a year though.
Mitsubishi? They made the planes that bombed Pearl Harbor! I ain't sellin' Hitler's canoe to no traitor! Hop on your sushi-boat and git!
Yep, I have found them very useful.
I also have that option on my legnum, must be standard in an importOriginally Posted by TAR

Heated mirrors are essential, i love it when I see the mist evaporating!!!
However some cars have heated whipers (like some Legacy) and washers (like some BMWs) which can be handy as well.
I just discovered the 'bring the wiper stalk up a bit and it wipes once' feature, as mentioned on a previous thread... I was one smiling, beaming, guy!
The ones on my dads old volvo 460 caught fire once!!!
No longer empty and frantic...
Yes I have heated mirrors and the heated low part front screen
Nick
Is that standard on VR4's or all Galants / Legnums..? I've found the demist front and rear on my Elegance is super-fast! Could the heated lower part of the screen be it..?Originally Posted by Nick VR4
No, it's on "cold area" spec japanese cars. UK cars don't have the heated wiper bed. I'm sure my GLS had washer nozzle heating because on a cold morning with frost on the bonnet, two melted patches would quickly appear around the washer nozzles. My GDI doesn't seem to (perhaps they went with the headlamp washers, which I'm starting to miss...).

Am betting its more due to the fact the washer bottle is long and slim and sits two inches away parralel to the engine, so warming quickly.Originally Posted by Isaac Sibson
If it is heated, wow how cool is that!
Mike
Still here somewhere........
Am supried your car has this facility, mine doesnt!Originally Posted by HMG1K
One thing I realised with the climate control demisting, why doesnt the fan go to full power, and why doesnt it make the air circulate inside only as with some other cars, and what effects does selecting the temprature have while the demist button is on?Originally Posted by HMG1K
If you hit the windscreen demist button, the fan bumps up to one bar off full power, I'm not sure what you mean? Also, if you have air circulating inside only, wouldn't that make demisting slower as there'd be more moisture in the air?
