VR4s, interesting aint they .....
AFAIK the STR is a normal 2.5 V6 with 4wd, so I very much doubt it'll be 210hp. Looks nice though.
The best things in life have to be lubricated
that's what i thoguht ... vr4 just no ayc or turbos ... so where is this 210 lark coming from. otherwise i swear this must be the first STR in the UK cos i havent heard of any others !?
Richy Rich and Lily had an STR many moons ago, and i've seen one knocking around Leicester a bit but other than that they do appear to be quite rare.
Aye. Rare as rocking horse droppings.
But I would also say that the power output should be more in line with the normal V6 - 160ish bhp. The car will be slower, too, due to the extra weight and drivetrain losses. (Unless it's raining - V6's are unable to accelerate with water on the ground!)
"30+ mpg"
What???
With the extra weight and power losses of the 4wd? It's hard enough to hit that target in the normal V6!
Surely you'd have to drive everywhere downhill!!
yes we did have one until some b@rsard killed it for me. I fell in it as soon as I saw it. (had not seen a Vr4 before then)Originally Posted by WildCards
I did not get much time to work the mpg out ,only had it a couple of months, but i can tell you it did about 250 to a tank it had a 50l tank cant be @rsed to work it out.Originally Posted by elnevio
Ooh, always a shame to see a nice car in that state. Especially such a rare one for these shores.
It stood up well to a 50mph impact into the back of a transit.Originally Posted by elnevio
The Jap spec cars have 165hp, and a manual one like that is insanely rare, probably about 1 in 50 ST-R's were manuals.
I have one the same as that and I've had 32-36mpg out of it, with around 32-33mph being the average. The 4wd is awesome too and they accelerate pretty quickly.
I would recommend it!
I have to admit, I am astonished! I've squeezed 30mpg out of my 2wd V6, and that was on a long steady run. I'm usually happy with 25mpg on average...Originally Posted by bradc
You guys in NZ don't happen to have a mile that's shorter than a UK mile do you?!
nope, and that was using 91 octane fuel as well
you have to remember tho, brad is an economy freak i mean, who else has there car off the road for a year to get what ever stupid kws he has at the wheels, then just drives it to see how economical it is?????
rubbish, you saw and heard it on the wellsford run, I wasn't going slow - still got 12.4l/100km out of that tank though
no didnt see you do that...wasnt it the black one doing that????....
haha lol
Is that about average for you Brad? I only ask because this calculates to 22.79mpg (36.69kmpg), if my sums are right.Originally Posted by bradc
Of course we could be using different gallons?
Mind you, I can't help feeling that
considering the sort of driving we were doing, it wasn't bad at all.
Normally I use around 10-11l/100km, which is between 25.7 and 28.2mpg
