All i do is keep my foot down, seems to work fine. What part of NZ are you in, Im on the north shore.
Hey thanks, i thought so, yeah im in aucks too. im from mt eden.
Bought mine in Jan, still getting used to it. It just failed a warrant with a little chassis damage that should have been picked up by the last warrant. Pissed off!!!!!!!!!
yeah? just got mine from japan too... when i got it aa inspected, they found clamp marks on the bottom of mine too! a friend told me to take it to mitsubishi and see if the airbags have been used yet.
Ultra, just keep your foot on the accelerator when you change gear. Are you aware it will automatically go into 1st when you come close to or actually to a stop, so no need to change down all the time.
I tend to leave mine in auto. The ECU "learns" your style of driving and auto for daily use is sooooo easy !

Hey Chris and Ultra, I tooo are from New Zealand! I'm in Huntly 30 mins north of Hamilton. We go up to Auckland at least once a month we should all join up some time!
Cheers,

Never really used the tiptronic part of the box, I'm way too lazy, I just leave it in auto.
But yeah, just floor it and change up when you want.
He means, look out for the 'very wet' pictures of Jap Fest.. :INSERT INTO post VALUES (Look out for the pics of Japfest !
Chucking it down today so I doubt it will be very hopeful tomorrow either.
The more you use the tiptronic part driving the more the auto part learns

Oh.... so that's why my car revs to 7 thousand rpm!! I guess the previous owner had a lot of fun!
It hasn't learnt any habits from me.. yet.
How long do you have to unhook the battery before that resets too?
$hit 7000rpms ....whats that in 1st gearOriginally posted by Brind

unhook battery for half an hour
Take it out for a drive and use Tip mode
It will learn your driving
Yeah! it certainly goes well! :inlove:Originally posted by Nick VR4

At least I'm sure it does... it does in the 2nd,3rd not sure about 4th as I was gaining 100+ very quickly
10-30secs is all you need to reset the ECU. If u double click the lever in tiptronic mode quickly you will skip a gear... so double click down from 4th and you will go to 2nd.
This also depends if the computer thinks it is safe to drop to a lower gear without over reving the engine.
Enjoy.

is your legnum tiptronic?
Yup my Legnum is Tiptronic but i modified it to look like a manual and reversed the way u select the gears, forward to go down the gears, back to up the gears.:cool1:
