MAP ECU - Group Buy number 2!

Benh of Eurospec has agreed a second group buy on the MAP ecu's that more and more members are starting to run. There is plenty of info around on them, including some results that are being seen.

Both MAP ECU 1 & 2 can be fitted and tuned by benh, who has experience of fitting and mapping them to VR4's.

I would like to propose a 2 month group buy time, so your money will be demanded at the end of March. This group buy is only open to CVR4 full members.

If you have any qustions about the ECU's that can't be answered with a search on this site, then probably your best bet is to get in touch with Ben at Eurospec.

All prices are not including VAT, or postage at £9. So stop messing around, and sign up below!

    PRICES:
    Retail Map ECU 1 = £330
    CVR4 club price = £260
    Group buy = £230, 5- 9 units
Group buy = £200, 10 units or more

    Retail Map ECU 2 = £545
    CVR4 Club price = £480
    Group Buy = £415, 5-9 Units
Group buy = £385, 10 units or more

I don't think I'll need them. All I want the MAP ecu for is to trim the fuelling and delete the maf.

It's a moveable target. Depending on the state of tune of your car and how well the new ECU integrates with it, Ben reckons up to £400 for fitting and tuning. If he can get it done easily he will charge less, but it depends on the time he spends on the car.

Yeah appreciate that Nick, just thought a "ball park" figure would help - £400 sounds reasonable

the units sound a bit expensive, we got a few last year from NZ and they were a lot cheaper than your group buy prices, couldnt a NZ member pick some up and ship them over for you? ....Just checked and the map2ecu units to buy in NZ are 695NZD = 276GBP http://www.mapecu.co.nz/map2.html

The price is actually in USD not NZD.
    695.00 USD = 353.830 GBP + shipping.

Rich, you might want to check your maths mate. Thats NZ dollars. They sell in US Dollars. Thats £353.

To that you add shipping, you add duty at 10% and you add vat. That puts the Uk landed price way above the group buy prices.

The guys have already mentioned the rest of the reasons you might want to buy from a uk supplier.

    Cheers,

    Ben.

Is the group buy 5 in total or 5 of the MAP 1's + 5 OF THE MAP 2?

    Or is that 10?

    I'll check that with Ben.

Matt - I am saving my pennies too, which is why I put that we would make the group buy last until the end of March. That gives you nearly two months to save up, rather than just one.

Ah ok Nick, I don't want to commit this early cos i've got a LOT of outgoings, but come mid of march, I will certainly have it at the back of my head!

i'm a little confussed now as to whether or not it has to be tuned or if it comes out with a base map, so it makes it a plug and play. can someone clear this up for me please, as to me it looks like it will come with a base map and post out to everyone for self install?

I believe there is a base map or there will be something to work with by the time everyone has theirs. However as every engine behaves slightly differently, I would imagine it would be majorly benificial to have your car set up properly.

I'm sure Ben or someone will comment in a bit

There is a base map , but this is just used to get some values in and allow the car to run , every car still needs to be tuned properly as you can not run a car with just the base map as you could be lean in some zones due to the differences in the cars

So bottom line with any product that tunes engines you get a base map and the tune from there
