Hence why we don't use Mitsubishi mechanics for tuning: they don't know what they're talking about.

You can fit a map2 to a completely standard car and use it for a little extra boost and some small corrections to the factory map with no other modifications. If your mapper will use his own wideband, then you don't even need one of those.

falsh - this group buy has finished, but there may be enough interest to try and start another?

As Steve says, you don't need anything for the MAP ECU 2 to work on a VR4. I think Ben has seen some good gains with standard VR4s and a MAP2. However, I would recommend a free flowing exhaust (at least cat and back box changes) and an uprated fuel pump and pressure regulator. The recomendations are simply because 1: The car is quite heavily restricted from building boost by the cat and the standard back box and 2: Fuel cut arrives too quickly with raised boost so more fuel will move that barrier back and allow more power.

    Thanks Nick Mann
Its already got a de-cat pipe on.
What sort of price would you expect to pay for a new fuel pump and pressure regulator and where would i get them from?
    Chers

    Between £50 and £200.

Camskill do a Walbro 255 pump and a FPR the same as mine. I like my set up. It's on the high side of the price bracket I quoted though! I have also played with a TRE pump and a fpr from an old group buy. They are not as nice to work with.

If you want the MAP2, then give Ben a call at Eurospec - I'm sure he will recommend what is the best to get.

Hit the support tab then the mapcal tab. Files for both MAP ECU's are there.
