Nik77,
Front anti-roll bar bushes deformed: it happens over time - they take the stress of the transverse loading when you go round corners. Easy enough to replace as new ones won't affect geometry. Replace with standard rubber ones, or some people go for nylon bushes - longer-lasting, but less forgiving, therefore hardens up the ride.
Offside front drumstick: this is the track rod that connects from the end of the steering rack to the wheel hub (at the track-rod end). They wear over time and, in extreme cases, can pop out resulting in no steering  Easy enough to change, apart from the skinned knuckles
(although often requires some brute force, or the correct tool
), to free the old ones. Change both at the same time, not just one side. Steering toe-in/out needs to be checked after replacement, as said, to ensure you don't scrub the tyres through incorrect alignment.
