I notice a bit of vibration at high speed. thoughts ?
We work to live, and to live is to drive a VR-4, around corners at speed. But it costs see here
It could be that one of the wheels or tyres isn't perfectly round, it could also be alignment or balancing
might pay to have the balance checked,
i noticed a little aswell, but not enough to annoy me.
I'll take it in tomorrow
got your PM... naughty boy! LOL!!
I have taken it in. He mentioned something that it could be a "plastic" insert to make the wheels fit properly.
He'll balance and align and check everything else out.
You mean the locating ring?? That is pretty importantOriginally Posted by KiwiTT
Don't know ?
He implied many alloys need the inserts to fit the various manufacturers.
NOTE: He did not say that is the problem, but it could be. He needs to check it out first, hence the alignment and balancing.
Thats correct They convert the wheel's bore to that of the car Only prob with them is that if you take the wheels on and off frequently you are prone to breaking them...Originally Posted by KiwiTT
But could also be an alignment or balancing issue too
They look pretty nice on your car KiwiTT.
I was gonna say whats the ride like?...from 16's to 18's? but you have already mentioned that.
VR-4
He Just called. "No wheel inserts and the 3 of the 4 wheels are buckled !?!?"
He'll do what he can to balance them up and align it.
Hmm, thats not cool at allOriginally Posted by KiwiTT
Did he give any indication as to how badly buckled they were?
He said even with balancing I may still notice it.
Another thought is that you could take them to a mag repair specialist and see if they can do anything with them.
Hmmm .. do you know of any ?
Sorry, noOriginally Posted by KiwiTT
Just spoke to him again. Could be looking at $500-$600 for a decent repair and he knows some one on the shore.
just spoke to richard on the phone...
not good, any way richard will get a quote on having the wheels fixed up,
and we will sort out something from there, (part refund/help with repair cost)
i had no idea these were bent, i new they had a vibration at higher (than road legal) speed,
Uc's dirfting attempts probabilly did it.
