I saw a thread that mentioned the pre-facelift tiptronic legnums were detuned - what 0-100 times are non-modified pre-facelift tiptronic Legnum (or whatever version/transmission you have) owners getting?

Ive got a 98 manual with big bore and pod filter running 6psi and doing 7.5-8 0-100. Getting standard intake put back on this week and going to up boost to 13psi. Hope this wil get it down to 6 seconds flat.
Paulcd did you find putting standard intake back on made a difference.
I think the standard intake made a slight difference but nothing major.Originally Posted by bbunnys

I had a believed to be standard pre-facelift auto Legnum. With a G-Tech Pro I used to get 0-60 times of around 5.9 seconds.
I would love to be able to get that sort of time - any ideas why there should be such a difference from two theoretically identical cars? What octane fuel were you using?Originally Posted by Nick Mann
It all comes down to the setup of your car really.
id love to see or hear about brad doing some 0-100km runs.
VR-4
Don't think that blue tack would be strong enough to hold the camera up on the steering wheel
A stock VR-4 should get around 6 seconds, when my purple VR-4 was stock I consistantly got around 6 seconds with a launch, and about 6.5 without
what are you getting now?
haven't measured
I think you need to have a read of the "GTech" thread
Thanks for the heads up, that's one hell of a long thread - 23 pages!Originally Posted by WODJNO
I guess I'll reset my ECU again after my first tank of 98 in case the dregs in there are causing the ECU to retard the timing. Seems like my car should be around a second quicker than it is at the moment.
this has been covered before - search is your friend - my personal best 5sec flat - average 5.3-5.6
i think you will find a launch will make it much quicker.
But then you run the risk of damaging an auto box with a launch.
The Launch:-
with a bit aof background.
The rev's held can be what ever you are comfortable with. the high the rev's i would say the more likely you are to damage things, lots of exess ware on the torque converter.
Left foot on the Brake.
rev to 2000-3500rpm.
take your foot of the brake as you floor the accelerator.
in a nut shell the Launch.
However i would recommend it if you want for gear box to last. you may get other responses from other people, but if you think about what the torque converter was desgined for this was not it. A smooth transfer of drive from a rotating crank to a input shaft of the gear box.

Bye for Now!
i'm getting around about the same time from 0-100 as most people here, about 6 seconds, my VR4's a bit different, i'm not sure weather it's some sort of light-weight ralliart edition VR4 with the recaro seats and momo steering wheel, has anyone else seen any VR4's like mine??? P.S. i'm new here so hey to everyone
It has the Car of the Year wheels. I think these were only available on 1996 Legnums? Brad will be able to put me right. Or more unlikely, confirm what I've said!

i take it that the 0-60 mph is gonna be different to the 0-60 kph

Nope - EXACTLY the same (I take it you mean 0-100kph anyway?)Originally Posted by Anthony
