    Rust!!!!

The rear arches on the V6 are starting to go . Bloody thing is only 6 years old as well.

What are my options? Definatly bodyshop but can they replace the arches? Do Mitsi do replacement repair arches? Or is it a case of repairing what is there?.

    Cheers

could u post a photo to see how serious the rust is?

is it possible to brush off the rust and u do some anti-rust treatment and repaint yourself?

The reason mine have gone is because the car had 85000 miles on it at 3 yrs old when I bought it. Those were all motorway miles. Consequently the mechanics of the car are great but the bodywork is suffering.

Oh and I dont machine polish the inside lip of the rear arch

Ancient - Did you suss a repair on this...?

I gave my 5 year old Galant its first ever personal by-hand wash today since buying it at Christmas and noticed both rear wheel arches are starting rust on the lip inside the arch... It's rusting slightly inside the panel out so I was going to wizz it past Mitsubishi to get it done under warranty... There're no stone chips on mine but I've noticed in the past a few early 8Gs on AutoTrader stating "rusting wheel arches" so sounds like a known problem on our cars.
