hahaha, urrr i've actually managed to bag myself a very special purple diesel M reg. citroen AX.....oooooh i hear you cry, its a beauty......Coming by train is the easiest way for you mate. Find out which station is easiest for you, Tiverton Parkway is the easiest for me, if not there then Taunton or Exeter, both are about 60 miles from me but would be very easy for you to get to, and if you buy the motor easy to rejoin the motorway. What are you after for the mazda anyway?

Eek ! Network rail says 4 hours to Exeter/Tiverton. I guess I need to buy a book or two . ! Barney, I was going to start at £300 for the Mazda and see what happens.

Well i might be interested in knocking something off the VR4 for your Mazda mate, the other half needs a motor as well. Any chance of some pics, details etc? What size motor is it?

    Cool, Barney.
I will get some pics up on Google for us. 1.6i petrol 1993 (Kreg) in white. Recent MOT, newish Uniroyal tyres. 112k miles. Cam belt needs doing, I bought the belt, never got round to fitting it, so I will supply the belt and the workshop manuals(s).

Bodywork is fair condition. There are a few rust spots which need attention. The cloth interior is in fairly good condition. No tears or holes, just general wear. It has a CD player and I upgraded the rear speakers (slightly!). One front speaker needs repairing/replacing.

New Towbar fitted (used only 3 times).

There's no aircon, but has a (cheapie) sunroof, and power steering. I will take some piccies tomorrow.

    :-)

Sounds like a deal mate. How much of a job is getting the cambelt done on one of those then? Not worried about the bodywork so much but its just what we are after i reckon. Email the pics to me at my hotmail address which you have. I'll email you directions to mine now.

    Here's my lil 323.

I am not sure how difficult cambelt change is. Have just changed it on the MX-5, and that was reasonably straight forward. But the 5 has a forward facing engine, whereas this car has it sitting transeversely. So maybe the hassle is the room between the engine and the strut. But if you've worked on the Legnum, I reckon this engine bay will seem spacious!

    More pictures to follow..

Oh, I need to keep those bike racks, lets hope they fit on the Legnum!

Cor, she's a beauty. Mate i'm as mechanically minded as a chip. Have always had the car serviced and maintained by the garage where i bought it and my Brother in law (to be) who has changed the oil a couple of weeks back etc. Cambelt was done no more than 1500 miles ago. I take it the plan is to meet somewhere, You'll drive mine away and i get to drive that bad boy eh?? (hopefully if you like my legnum - did you want some more photos??)

Lol ! Thats the plan, if we both agree once we've seen the cars.

I am not sure what a Garage would charge you -but there is a guy on the 323 forum who does it, I will find out if he can make it down to you. I do as much work as I can myself.

I don't think any VR4's have it as standard but there is a kit available. There was a group buy earlier this year I think

    I am well chuffed Barney.

Nice to meet you and your missus ( I think she deserves better - ha ha just kidding).

There are a few things I want to fix on the Legnum, but I will put up some new posts about all that.

I was very sad to see the lil 323 go. (Barney took it as part of the deal) It served its purpose for me very very well. I hope it doesnt become too much of a banger. Just a low cost motor for a year or two, and maybe you'll get a couple o' hundred back for her.

So now I really really must sell the RX-7, or my wife will kill me !
