o`rly?? hmmmm might be the best alternative to giong the MBC way. need more power before japfest, was just concerened considering a profec b is like 300 quid.
all though they do really cheap intercooler kits, might invest in one later in the year
cheers john for clearing that up
Too little time for you to get it install it and set it up safely before JF , leave until after , you have enough power for Combe
you can never have enough powah! yeh probably dont have enough time, or enough money. would have to upgrade the bov aswell probably
You have standard brakes , you;ve ( AFAIK) never driven a VR4 on a track so you have a car that is fast enough for it's first time out
standard brakes!!!! red stuff pads on vented grooved dimpled discs with racing blue brake fluid thank you very much.
well i need more polish stuff so thats 100 quid
possibly need a new battery- 60 odd quid
fuel
replace brake pads after.
so that brings money tight.
then the EBC is 150, plus 150 more for insurance declaration, its not going to happen
Good choice , oh you still have standard brake , just uprated pads and disks
Admin please delete this entire thread as Kyle has seen sense ( and we can have that on public view )
Shirley, it should be stickied? lol
Arf!
Anyway, you didn't allow shed loads of fuel for playing around with EBC settings. (says the man who's had one waiting to be installed for the best part of a year)
Drop ya car into me on way into work 1 mornin.. And i'll install it and set it up for youOriginally Posted by Throbbe
Mates rates apply of course
Completely agree with John. You really need to relax about driving on track. It's not a race so you don't need more power. The last thing that anybody wants is to have their car damaged (or worse themselves or their passengers). As John has said you have more than enough power and you will still have fun. The main thing is to bring yourself and the car back in one piece. Anything after that is a bonus.Originally Posted by Nutter_John

I may well take you up on that. Recent house move and a new sprog about to arrive mean my weekends aren't about to get any freer!Originally Posted by WODJNO
As John mentioned I've got one of these EBC's and it works fine. However, if you've still got the stock BOV then I'd definitely get that changed at the same time. My boost was all over the place before I replaced my BOV with an EVO BOV, and I was unfairly blaming the EBC for being difficult to set up!
When tuning this particular EBC I've found the gain settings need to be quite high (80%+). I wanted to run 12psi HI boost, and I've found that setting the boost to 13psi and adjusting the gain until 12psi is reached means there's less spiking than setting boost to 12psi with a corresponding higher gain setting. Similarly I've set 11psi for my LO setting and tuned the gain so I actually get 10psi.

Pitslayer, did you ever buy from this company?
Good to know your insight Ade, it seems a good price for an entry level boost controller.
looks like this is next on my list, for that extra 'push back into seat' feeling!!!
