    Car Broken Into

Hey guys just got my vr4 broken into about 30mins ago... the car was park up our long drive 1m away from front door and 2m away from bedroom yet they still broken in... whats worse i was awake at the time and sprinted out the door only to see a car take off fast round a corner so i missed the number plate

They took my valentine 1 radar.. very annoyed if i cant even park up a driveway that you can only see the rear of the car from and thats it.. where am i to park now?

will take photos and post when its lighter outside.

any1 happen to have a spare front passenger window around? already tinted if possible lol

FFS What is wrong with people. Im guessing because it was a long drive they couldn't be seen from the street. Scum, kill 'em all!

    Sorry about your loss.

Can I ask where in NZ you are? Am guessing Auckland.

That's a long drive, so I wonder if they saw your V1 and followed you home to steal it?

Really sorry to see and hear that..............

The whole scenario worries me. Almost doesn't sound random, it's like they 'knew' it was there cause from your photos, your cars miles from the road and looks like any other car up a long drive, nothing special. Remember it was dark too so even harder to till it was worth the risk to them.

Have you noticed anyone hanging around or looking a little out of place or maybe even a car following you home one night recently? Or had a party at your place where people you didn't know arrived as "friends of a friend" type thing?

Do take it to the police, they are useless but you never know, the idiot thieves may have left a print and be on the police database...........

Good luck with insurance and getting it fixed.

Also, watch out for the next couple of weeks cause they know where and what the car is now.............

I always hate reading stories like this - unfortunately I'm no stranger to these sort of events...

I'm wondering if the area where your car is parked is lit at night? If not, this is an open invitation to thieves. A motion sensor security light, if not already installed, would be a good idea.

Is it at all possible to put up a gate to screen the view of the drive from the road - also hindering unauthorised access to the property?

On the bright side, at least your car is still there!

Oh also watch Trademe for V1's coming up. Especially ones with out manual etc. that are unusually cheap. The thief maybe attempting to flog it off there.

I would recommend asking the police to come to you. It's not recommended to disturb the scene of the crime.

Cops don't come to the scene! Get real dude.
I had my truck broken into, they ripped the number plate off, that was in the back, I'm sure there would of being good prints on that.
The best they could do was send me a letter to say I have reported the break in to the cops!
    Really how slack is that!
I catch anyone doing **** they are not meant to do, I will take justice into my own hands.
I have no faith in the cops, not after how little they have done for me in the past.

Even when I was assaulted, all they did was give this person a warning.
But if it was me doing the assaulting I would get done for using deadly weapons!

Dam if you do and damed if dont.

And I thought our cops were bad - the ones here just seem to be lazy, odd considering they don't really have that much on the go to occupy their time

yes of course, because the fvckers won't get any money/get their quota filled/gather revenue from coming out to catch repeat offenders who may or may not have shot an indian shop keeper and lets face it, they've stolen a radar detector, so you know they'll be intentionally breaking the law with that in the future, but I bet that if you drove at 61kmh or 111kmh to get to the police station to tell them about stuff being stolen, you'd get ticketed and get demerit points.

Fire them all I say and bring in the army. Get caught stealing anything, shoot first, questions later. That would stop virtually all robberies overnight
