    New VR4 buyer

Hows it going all. Have just purchased a 1996 VR4 80,000 km, Tiptronic, Mini Disc player and CD stacker. Traded in an old 1991 Toyota Cynos for it. Tell me truthfully is the VR4 a good car? From my test drive I was very impressed. What is the fuel consumption like on them?

    Welcome to the Club.

Don't think about fuel consumption. Imagine you are driving a big V8 sedan, that can handle like a rally car.

I thought about it briefly like yourself, from 500km a 50L tank to 300km a 60L tank is quite a shock initially. However, for me it is my dream car equivalent, so I can accept this cost to "Live my Dream"

Most people's dream cars are really expensive to buy and maintain. The VR-4 is a "Twin-Turbo, Fuel-injected, 4 wheel drive" and my dream car is a 959 Group B - Bi-Turbo, also a Twin-Turbo, Fuel-injected, 4 wheel drive. What was unreachable 20 years ago, when they conceived the 959 is affordable in the VR-4.

Again Welcome to the Club. And make sure you find a good place to service it. A lot of your questions can be answered by a simple search of the forum.
We work to live, and to live is to drive a VR-4, around corners at speed. But it costs see here
