    Been on rolling road.

Well, managed to get my car on the rollers today at interpro, btw top guys who know what they are doing and what they are on about and some tasty motors they have worked on.
well anyways back to what i was saying, got car on the rolling road for a power run, the guy reckons im underboosting slightly seems very low, and could do with being cranked up a bit. i got the figures here.
anyone want to have a guess at what BHP my car is putting out at the flywheel?

on another note though, after playing about with mates FTO, with an apexi fuel controller, the power run read out at 199bhp at the fly, not bad considering its only got a panel filter upgrade and stainless exhaust. although 115bhp at the wheels....but the setup Jason at interpro run, has made the FTO much better it pulls a lot more, even got the right wheel to chirp launching hard at the lights. not bad for an auto

so whats everyones guesses on my car, relativly standard, just got decat and thats about it actually

lol ingletor it does have enough energy to move itself

the thing is though when someone gets right, will have to find out what should be done about it to sort it out

Until you tell us how they worked out the at the flywheel figure, its all a bit pointless guessing - did they record the at the wheel figures at all

That FTO figure is a bit strange too - loosing 84bhp through a FWD auto aint right

i have no idea how the worked it all out, every place sets it up differently, would have to have another VR4 to compare it to. i know the readings will be slightly out, not alot that can done about it. but your all still miles off mikekey closer now.

when the FTO went on my mate said "ive never heard my car full throttle from the outside"...it was pretty loud.... then we put my VR4 on and it sounded like the world ending

    lol
well torque it peaked at 344ftlbs at 870 rpm and then sat at about 280-290 ftlbs
    transmission loss 132bhp
    and

lots more than i was expecting at the flywheel
print out reads 290bhp, now i would call it about 280bhp as a guess, and 158 ATW horsepowah!

now where did i put that boost controller.....*remembers hasnt got one*

Hmmmm, forgive my cynicism, but they're adding an awful lot onto the ATW figures. I'd guestimate you're making nearer a true 220.

Flywheel figure is irrelevant, firstly because it can't be measured accurately enough for these vehicles and secondly because it isn't the power you use, the wheels figure is, so just stick to that.

FYI when the club went to Silverstone a few years ago, mine recorded 172bhp at the wheels, which was one of he lower figures on the day, I think 200 or a shade under was the highest, so 185ish ATW is a reasonable figure for a healthy car I reckon.
The best things in life have to be lubricated
