    GLS Gearbox Question

Hi. I am after a 4G63 GLS manual gearbox for a project.

Does anyone have a picture of one showing the bell housing bolt holes?

Also, does anyone know if the starter motor is always above the front gearbox mount or is there a variant more like the VR-4?

Cannot find a decent drawing in the Workshop manuals.

    TIA

What year GLS are you referring to? The 1996-on version?

    I think it is 1996+.

Basically I need a FWD gearbox that will hook up to an Evo6 block. But its not going in an Evo chassis

    Hello Tony!

Kieran, what Tony needs to know is does the later GLS with a 4g63 (ie Evo 4+) have a gearbox with a starter motor positioned at the bottom of the bell housing?

The donor gearbox doesnt have to be galant gls, all we need is something that will go on the 2nd gen 4g63 but with the starter either at the rear, or low at the front.

    Cheers,

    Ben.
