Coming home..

Hi everyone

A deal has been and since Friday 08-08-08 I have been the proud owner of a Galant VR-4 Estate

Will get some pictures sorted ASAP

It has been a few years sine I sold my 99 Galant VR-4 saloon. After a period away I renewed my membership and now it feels like coming home...

...and seems like only a short time since 'The Posse' went to Castle Combe for the first official Club stand IIRC and our first venture onto a track

I think I was the only one that day but the laps were filmed by a nervous passenger (Barry), the sun shone all day and it was a good day for everyone - talking cars and meeting each other

It's nice to be back in a Galant and it really does feel like home

Well that would be nice, I enjoyed my year out there and my Galant VR-4, a 7G Sport GT - a very nice car...

...but it's just coming home to CVR4 not NZ I am afraid

I remember a track day at Doninigton when, IIRC, you did some bacon butties in the pit garage - very nice, and we also had Jimbo n HJM there doing laps after we had stayed o/n nearby

Congratulations on getting back to a jap car - but surely a driver of your ability should be in a RWD car ??? You'll be missing so much fun !

Let you off though cos if you need an estate then the VR4 is the best all rounder when considering ££££££.

Now get yourself booked on the pre TRAX trackday (06/09/08) for a proper shake down of your new beastie - don't worry the Usual Suspects will be gentle with you

Do not need an estate but when I saw car it called to me...come back to VR-4...

...and I could not help but get it

A VR-4 again but different colour, style and age - I like 4WD - really looking fwd to wet track days partic at the Ring - looking at Vredstein Winter Extreme ?

And some dry days - thinking of R888'S

Pictures ASAP - had taken note of J's comments in prev conversations/PMs and bought nice example of 30D so pictures should be half-decent

Would have joined you I think for the pre-TRAX trackday but that w/e I am visiting a stretch of tarmac in the Eiffel region...

Again nice to back here, even with RWD friends and Usual Suspects

ps I do have my MR2 that I might take to the Ring again, some day..., maybe...

Nice one Chris and welcome back. Estate, saloon, RWD AWD even FWD ( ) they're all fun. Hope you enjoy the new beast. Bet the first time I see it will be at a local meet (like the Ring)!

It would be nice to meet at a UK event - immediately thinks of Donington and Oulton Pk (anyone up for autumn/winter trackdays) - but given my continuing interest in the Eiffel Region, it is more likely I will see people at the Ring

...got my CVR4 t-shirts at Castle Combe (2003), when the Posse first met officially IIRC and still wearing CVR4 t-shirts at the Ring despite abuse from what seem like unruly Usual Suspects...

I remember that fateful day, in May 2003 when we first saw you going around CC with Barry in the suicide seat....and the bug hit ! So much has happened since then, but the love of the VR4 has waned very little.

I still want to do Oulton Park, so if you're up for an Autumn track day then let us know.
