    Fuel tank removal

Has anybody ever removed the fuel tank? I have a low rattle that is very annoying in 3 - 5 th gear when you pull away in low revs at about 1100 rpm. I thought it was internal but I stripped the whole rear down to the bare metal and got a mate to drive it while I hung on for dear life in the back to hear where it was coming from. Seems to be directly below the raised centre strut (Legnum) between the boot section and where the rear seat base sits.

I'm sure it's not the exhaust as I checked that last week. When I bang the tank from beneath I can hear a mechanical reverberation which I think is the source. But it sounds like it's above the tank (and below the floor).

    Any suggestions on tank removal?

If you'll do it, be sure it's empty...

But before you'll do that, take backseat out, get a screwdriver and take the blanking plate for fuel pump off. From there you can see at the top of the tank and if there's anything loose... 5 min job
